Textile fabrics - Burning behaviour - Determination of ease of ignition of vertically oriented specimens

ISO 6940:2004 specifies a method for the measurement of ease of ignition of vertically oriented textile fabrics and industrial products in the form of single or multi-component fabrics (coated, quilted, multilayered, sandwich constructions, and similar combinations), when subjected to a small, defined flame. This method assesses the properties of textile fabrics in response to flame contact under controlled conditions.

Le présent document décrit une méthode d'essai destinée à évaluer l'aptitude des textiles à s'enflammer lorsqu'ils sont au contact d'une flamme. Cette méthode doit être uniquement utilisée pour évaluer les propriétés des matériaux ou systèmes en réaction à une chaleur et une flamme dans des conditions contrôlées. Les résultats ne doivent pas être appliqués à des situations où il y a apport réduit d'air ou bien exposition prolongée à des sources importantes d'intense chaleur, comme cela est le cas dans un incendie.
