La présente norme décrit une méthode de dosage de l'azote par spectrophotométrie du complexe formé par les ions ammonium, phénate de sodium et nitroprussiate de sodium, dans les aciers. La méthode est applicable aux teneurs en azote comprises entre 0,002 % et 0,050 %. Elle comporte un cas particulier pour les aciers effervescents non alliés, d'usage général, dont la teneur présumée en azote est inférieure à 0,002 %.
