Le présent document présente la terminologie et donne la nomenclature des outils de martellerie. Il s'applique aux outils de percussion (marteaux, masses ), aux supports, aux outils intermédiaires, ainsi qu'à divers outils rattaches au domaine de la martellerie. Il ne traite pas du type d'emmanchement, ni de la nature et de la forme du manche. Les dimensions et le marquage des marteaux à tête d'acier font l'objet de la NF E 71-016.
