L'additif 1 (novembre 1983) concerne les installations de mammographie. L'additif 2 (décembre 1984) concerne les installations de tomodensimétrie. L'additif 3 (décembre 1990) introduit dans la norme des modifications à certaines prescriptions afin qu'elles soient mieux adaptées aux installations d'ostéodensimétrie à rayonnement X. Ses prescriptions ne s'appliquent pas aux ostéodensimètres à source radioactive.

Le présent document concerne les INSTALLATIONS RADIOLOGIQUES Utilisées à poste fixe pour la production et l'utilisation de RAYONNEMENTS X quel que soit leur usage : médical (y compris dentaire), vétérinaire, industriel ou scientifique. Il concerne également les INSTALLATIONS RADIOLOGIQUES correspondantes sur les sites de fabrication, de contrôle et de maintenance des appareils à RAYONS X ainsi que les ENCEINTES A RAYONNEMENT X et les ENCEINTES AUTO PROTECTRICES A RAYONNEMENT X dans la mesure où tous les dispositifs de sécurité et les signalisations sont reportés sur l'enceinte elle-même. Le présent document a pour objet de définir les exigences générales d'installation des appareils électriques pour la production et l'utilisation des RAYONS X et, en particulier les règles de calcul de la protection radiologique. Il ne s'applique pas aux installations utilisant les rayonnements d'appareils fonctionnant sous une haute tension supérieure à 600 kV.
