Le présent document spécifie une méthode de détermination volumétrique de l'étain dans les alliages de cuivre. Elle implique une séparation préalable du cuivre et du plomb, par électrolyse et est applicable aux teneurs en étain supérieures ou égales à 1 %. Sa mise en oeuvre s'effectue selon la méthode décrite dans la norme NF A 06-701. Une méthode directe de détermination volumétrique de l'étain dans les alliages de cuivre, applicable aux teneurs en étain comprises entre 0,5 % et 13 % est décrite dans la norme ISO 3111:1975.
