Applies to battery-operated electric fence energizers suitable for connection to the supply mains. Also applies to mains-operated electric fence energizers incorporating batteries to supply the energizer if the mains supply is interrupted and electric fence energizers designed for connection to a separate battery charger.
Introduction of the following appendices: J (Burning test), K (Glow-wire test), L (Bad-correction test with heaters), M (Needle-flame test), N (Proof tracking test) and P (Severity of the duty conditions of insulating material with respect to the risk of tracking) plus other varied amendments.
Applies to battery-operated electric fence energizers not for connection to the supply mains. Examples of such appliances are electric fence energizers -operated by non-rechargeable batteries either incorporated or separate; -operated by separate accumulators only; -intended to be connected to a battery charger not designed for connection to the supply mains; -incorporating a dry battery or an accumulator which can only be recharged when removed from the energizer.
Applicable to the safety of electric fence energizers, the rated voltage of which is not more than 250 V. The contents of the corrigendum of August 2013 have been included in this copy.
