IEC 61300-3-33:2022
Fibre optic interconnecting devices and passive components - Basic test and measurement procedures - Part 3-33: Examinations and measurements - Withdrawal force from a resilient alignment sleeve using pin gauges
IEC 61300-3-33:2022 describes the procedure to measure the withdrawal force between the pin gauge and the resilient alignment sleeve. This measurement procedure is applicable to single-fibre cylindrical ferrule optical connectors. This third edition cancels and replaces the second edition published in 2012. This edition constitutes a technical revision.This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:harmonize "gauge pin" to "pin gauge";update test apparatus in Figure 1;change of clause structure;specified pin gauge requirements in Table 1.The contents of the corrigendum of May 2023 have been included in this copy.

This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:
harmonize "gauge pin" to "pin gauge";
update test apparatus in Figure 1;
change of clause structure;
specified pin gauge requirements in Table 1.
The contents of the corrigendum of May 2023 have been included in this copy.
IEC 61300-3-33:2012 describes the procedure to measure the withdrawal force between the ferrule (gauge pin) of the plug connector and the resilient alignment sleeve of the adapter. The gauge pin should have the same shape (chamfer) like the normal ferrules described in the optical interface, see IEC 61755-3 series and IEC 61754 series. This measurement procedure is applicable to single-fibre cylindrical ferrule optical connectors. The changes with respect to the previous edition are to reconsider the entire document according to the updated IEC rules and to add a gauge and a solvent into Clause 4, and to add a general subclause and cleaning procedure into Clause 6.
The Requirements department helps you quickly locate within the normative text:
- mandatory clauses to satisfy,
- non-essential but useful clauses to know, such as permissions and recommendations.
The identification of these types of clauses is based on the document “ISO / IEC Directives, Part 2 - Principles and rules of structure and drafting of ISO documents ”as well as on a constantly enriched list of verbal forms.
