IEC 61754-4:2013 defines the standard interface dimensions for type SC family of connectors. This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition published in 1997 and constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:- addition of the duplex plug and adaptor connector interface;- reconsideration of the overall content of the standard. Defines the standard interface dimensions for type SC family of connectors which is characterized by a 2,5 mm nominal ferrule diameter and includes a push-pull coupling mechanism which is spring loaded relative to the ferrule in the direction of the optical axis.

This third edition cancels and replaces the second edition published in 2013 and constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition: - the test method IEC 61300-3-22 for the compression force of the ferrule was added; - Annex A (informative) with cut out dimension requirements for testing the strength of mounted adaptors was added.
