Acoustics and vibration - Laboratory measurement of vibro-acoustic transfer properties of resilient elements - Part 5 : driving point method for determination of the low-frequency transfer stiffness of resilient supports for translatory motion

ISO 10846-5:2008 specifies a driving point method for determining the low-frequency transfer stiffness for translations of resilient supports, under a specified preload. The method concerns the laboratory measurement of vibrations and forces on the input side with the output side blocked, and is called the “driving point method”. The stiffness resulting from measuring the input displacement (velocity, acceleration) and input force is the dynamic driving point stiffness. Only at low frequencies, where the driving point stiffness and the transfer stiffness are equal, can this method be used for determination of the dynamic transfer stiffness. The method is applicable to test elements with parallel flanges.

ZOOM ON ... the Requirements department
To comply with a standard, you need to quickly understand its issues in order to determine its impact on your activity.

The Requirements department helps you quickly locate within the normative text:
- mandatory clauses to satisfy,
- non-essential but useful clauses to know, such as permissions and recommendations.

The identification of these types of clauses is based on the document “ISO / IEC Directives, Part 2 - Principles and rules of structure and drafting of ISO documents ”as well as on a constantly enriched list of verbal forms.

With Requirements, quickly access the main part of the normative text!
