Soil quality - Determination of total cyanide and easily liberatable cyanide - Continuous-flow analysis method

ISO 17380:2013 specifies a method for the photometric determination of the total cyanide and easily-liberatable cyanide content in soil using automated distillation/continuous-flow analysis.ISO 17380:2013 applies to all types of soil with cyanide contents above 1 mg/kg on the basis of dry matter, expressed as cyanide ion.

Soil quality - Determination of total cyanide and easily released cyanide - Continuous-flow analysis method

ISO 17380:2004 specifies a method for the photometric determination of the total cyanide and the easily released cyanide mass fraction in soil using an automated-distillation continuous-flow analysis. ISO 17380:2004 applies to all types of soil with cyanide mass fractions above 1 mg/kg on the basis of dry matter, expressed on the basis of the cyanide ion. Sulfide concentrations in the sample higher than 40 mg/kg dry matter cause interference. This effect can be recognized by the split peaks and as a slow decrease of the detector signal and can only be prevented by diluting the sample extract.

ZOOM ON ... the Requirements department
To comply with a standard, you need to quickly understand its issues in order to determine its impact on your activity.

The Requirements department helps you quickly locate within the normative text:
- mandatory clauses to satisfy,
- non-essential but useful clauses to know, such as permissions and recommendations.

The identification of these types of clauses is based on the document “ISO / IEC Directives, Part 2 - Principles and rules of structure and drafting of ISO documents ”as well as on a constantly enriched list of verbal forms.
