Regulations governing the use of timber in structure - Visual classification for the use of softwood and hardwood species in structures - Part 1: Massive wood

Le présent document a pour objet de définir un classement visuel des bois sciés résineux et feuillus et destinés à une utilisation en structure et faisant l’objet de justifications par calcul. Il s’applique aux bois dont la section est supérieure à 2 200 mm² et dont l’une des dimensions ne peut être inférieure à 22 mm. Le sapin/épicéa et le douglas utilisés en faible section (de 1850 mm² à 2 700 mm²) et dont l’une des deux dimensions est supérieure à 18 mm disposent d’une nouvelle règle de tri. Le classement pour la résistance par méthode visuelle des bois sciés s'applique aux essences en provenance de forêts françaises (voir domaine d’application).
