Elle s'applique au grillage galvanisé à mailles hexagonales pour clôtures, tel que figuré par l'un ou l'autre des deux dessins ci-dessous, constitué par une nappe de mailles, de forme hexagonale obtenue par torsade deux à deux de fil d'acier doux. Cette nappe, galvanisée à chaud après fabrication, est normalement arrêtée sur chaque rive par une bordure, composée par deux fils torsadés ou non.
