Le présent document spécifie un système de codage par couleur comme seconde méthode d'identification du contenu des bouteilles à gaz à usage industriel, pour l'application de gaz respirables et de gaz à usage médical, avec une référence particulière aux propriétés du gaz ou du mélange de gaz. Il ne s'applique ni aux bouteilles contenant du gaz de pétrole liquéfié (GPL) ou des gaz réfrigérants, ni aux extincteurs d'incendie portatifs ou aux installations fixes d'extinction.
