Le présent document s'applique aux manèges d'aires de jeux pour enfants, comme définis de 3.1 à 3.6. Il spécifie les exigences de sécurité complémentaires relatives aux manèges de diamètre supérieur à 500 mm, destinés à être installés de façon permanente et à être utilisés par des enfants. Il ne s'applique ni aux équipements dont la principale fonction de jeu n'est pas la rotation ni aux manèges entraînés par un moteur, aux manèges forains ni aux tambours rotatifs.
