Le présent document s'applique aux signaux lumineux rouges, jaunes et verts, de diamètres nominaux de 200 mm et 300 mm, destinés à la régulation du trafic routier. Les autres signaux et les pictogrammes sont quant à eux traités par la norme NF P 99-200 et ses amendements. Il spécifie les exigences en matière de performances visuelles, structurelles et fonctionnelles, ainsi que les méthodes d'essai correspondantes à utiliser. Les signaux lumineux portables sont expressément exclus du domaine d'application du présent document.
