Le présent document établit les prescriptions fonctionnelles spécifiques pour la conception, la construction, l'exploitation, la maintenance et au démantèlement en sécurité des stations de compression du gaz. Il s'applique aux nouvelles stations de compression dont la pression maximale de service (MOP) est supérieure à 16 bar et dont la puissance totale à l'arbre est supérieure à 1 MW et dans le cas des stations de compression existantes, il s'applique aux nouvelles unités de compression. Lorsque des changements ou des modifications d'installations existantes ou de composition du gaz ont lieu, les exigences du présent document peuvent être prises en compte. Il ne s'applique pas aux stations de compression de gaz en fonctionnement.
