La présente norme définit un vocabulaire relatif aux éléments et aux accessoires utilisés dans les techniques de la distribution et de la diffusion de l'air. Elle exclut les éléments chargés de la mise en mouvement de l'air et du traitement de l'air. Le vocabulaire relatif aux caractéristiques de fonctionnement des éléments utilisés dans les techniques de distribution et de diffusion de l'air sera défini dans les normes décrivant les méthodes d'essai de ces appareils. En distribution comme en diffusion, le terme "air" désigne, d'une manière générale, tout fluide gazeux.
