Le présent document détaille les spécifications pour les mélanges appartenant à la famille des hot-rolled asphalt et utilisés en couche de roulement, de liaison, de reprofilage et d'assise, pour les routes, les aéroports et autres zones de circulation. Actuellement, seules les exigences empiriques sont spécifiées combinées à des exigences sur le module de rigidité. Ceci se justifiant par un manque d'expérience en matières d'essais fondamentaux sur les hot rolled asphalt. L'objectif final reste toutefois de spécifier les hot rolled asphalt en termes de propriétés fondamentales basées sur les performances.
