Le présent document spécifie les prescriptions de fabrication, les méthodes de calcul, d'essai et les informations pour l'utilisation des élingues en câble. Le présent document s'applique aux élingues à un, deux, trois ou quatre brins etaux élingues sans fin de 6 ou 8 torons, à câblage normal et de diamètre compris entre 8 mm et 60 mm. Le présent document ne couvre pas les élingues à usage unique, c'est-à-dire les élingues jetables, ayant un coefficient d'utilisation inférieur à 5. Le présent document vient à l'appui des Directives "Machines" 98/37/CE (voir Annexe ZA) et 2006/42/CE (voir Annexe ZB).
