Le présent document spécifie des exigences de classification et de performance ainsi que des méthodes d'essai des vitrages en verre (constitués d'une ou plusieurs couches de verres) et des vitrages composites verre/plastique résistant au souffle d'explosions, en vue d'assurer la sécurité des personnes. La classification n'est valable que pour des dimensions de vitrage d'essai d'environ 1 m2 . Les résultats correspondants peuvent être utilisés pour une appréciation de la résistance à la pression des explosions d'autres dimensions de vitrages en s'appuyant sur des considérations théoriques et/ou des travaux expérimentaux.
