Le présent document spécifie le calcul et la conception des ressorts de compression hélicoïdaux cylindriques fabriqués par enroulement à froid ou à chaud à partir de fils ronds et de barre de diamètres compris entre 8 mm et 100 mm. Il prend en compte les paramètres d'influence suivants : le type de sollicitation (statique ou dynamique), la température de fonctionnement, le comportement au flambage, la résonance, la contrainte de cisaillement, pour la conception de ces ressorts et fournit les méthodes de calcul à utiliser.
