Le présent document spécifie des exigences de sécurité (résistance électrique, échauffement par frottement, résistance à la flamme et propagation au feu), applicables aux courroies transporteuses destinées à être utilisées dans des installations souterraines. Il n'est pas applicable aux courroies transporteuses légères décrites dans la norme NF EN 873. Il vient à l'appui des exigences essentielles de la Directive 94/9/CE et de la Directive "Machines" 2006/42/CE.
