Le présent document s'adresse aux laboratoires. Le présent document spécifie une méthode permettant de déterminer la concentration en matières solides dissoutes totales (TDS) dans l'eau et les éluats pourvu que ces matières ne soient pas volatiles dans les conditions spécifiées ou qu'elles ne relarguent pas de molécules d'eau d'hydratation. Il s'applique à l'eau et aux éluats contenant plus de 200 mg/l de matières solides dissoutes totales. Les échantillons contenant de moindres quantités de matières solides dissoutes peuvent être analysés en répétant l'étape de dessiccation.
