Le présent document prescrit les exigences et les méthodes d'essai pour le carburant pour automobiles Ethanol (E85) mis sur le marché et livré. Il est applicable au carburant pour automobiles Ethanol (E85) destiné aux moteurs à allumage commandé conçus pour utiliser ce carburant. Le carburant pour automobiles Ethanol (E85) est un mélange de théoriquement 85 pour cent (V/V) d'éthanol et d'essence sans plomb ordinaire, mais il inclut aussi la possibilité de différentes " classes saisonnières " contenant plus que 50 pour cent (V/V) d'éthanol.
