Le présent document définit un profil d'application basé sur un ensemble de normes de base conformément au concept de "profils normalisés internationaux (ISP)" défini dans l'ISO/IEC TR 10000-1. Son objectif est de permettre l'interopérabilité technique entre les installations de perception du télépéage (EFC) reposant sur des systèmes de communication dédiés à courte portée (DSRC) en Europe. Les principes des profils d'application et les relations avec les normes de base correspondantes sont définis dans l'introduction. Le présent document définit uniquement un niveau de base d'interopérabilité technique pour l'installation EFC, c'est-à-dire le boîtier d'identification embarqué (OBU) ou les infrastructures routières (RSE) utilisant des systèmes de communication dédiés à courte portée (DSRC). Il ne fournit pas de solution complète pour l'interopérabilité et ne définit ni d'autres parties de l'installation EFC, ni d'autres services, ni d'autres technologies, ni d'éléments d'interopérabilité non techniques.
