Il s'applique aux assemblages de raccords et appareils de robinetterie avec une pression minimale de calcul de 16 bar (surpression) conformes à la NF EN 13941.

Il définit les exigences et les méthodes d'essais applicables aux raccords et robinets de tubes de service en acier de DN 15 à DN 250, comprenant une isolation en mousse rigide de polyuréthane et un tube de protection en polyéthylène. Il s'applique conjointement avec la NF EN 15698-1 (qui définit les prescriptions applicables aux systèmes bloqués de bitubes de chauffage urbain) et uniquement aux raccords et robinets préisolés conformes à la NF EN 13941.
