Il spécifie et décrit le format de communication des informations définies dans l'EN 15804 pour la communication entre entreprises, afin de garantir une bonne compréhension grâce à une communication efficace des informations. Il n'a pas pour objet de traiter de la communication entre l'entreprise et le consommateur. Le format de communication entre l'entreprise et le consommateur fera l'objet d'un autre document.
