Le présent document spécifie trois méthodes permettant de déterminer la capacité de matériaux non métalliques à stimuler la croissance de micro-organismes. Il s'applique aux matériaux destinés à être utilisés dans diverses conditions pour le transport et le stockage de l'eau destinée à la consommation humaine. Le présent document prévoit de soumettre à essai des échantillons ne comportant qu'un seul type de matériau ou un produit dans lequel un seul type de matériau est en contact avec l'eau. Son utilisation ne convient pas aux produits assemblés dans lesquels plusieurs matériaux sont exposés à l'eau.
