Le présent document spécifie les exigences et/ou mesures de sécurité applicables aux presses à vulcaniser les pneumatiques des véhicules de tourisme et des véhicules poids lourds. Il s'applique aux presses à une cavité, à flux traversant à deux cavités, et à celles qui ont une alimentation et évacuation automatiques par l'arrière. Il ne traite pas du système d'alimentation et d'évacuation de la presse. Les phénomènes dangereux associés à la chute de pièces du container ou du moule, les exigences de sécurité relatives à la conception des équipements auxiliaires qui ne font pas partie intégrante de la presse à vulcaniser, et celles relatives aux systèmes d'assainissement de l'air par aspiration sont exclus du domaine d'application.
