Le présent document spécifie les exigences et les méthodes d'essai relatives à la sécurité et au marquage des appareils de cuisson isolés et encastrés à usage domestique (utilisés dans un bâtiment d'habitation) , utilisant les combustibles gazeux décrits dans l'EN 437:2021, désignés dans l'ensemble du texte par " appareils ". Il concerne les types d'appareils de cuisson à usage domestique (tables de cuisson isolées, tables de cuisson encastrées, tables-grilloirs, réchauds-fours, fours isolés, fours encastrés, grilloirs par rayonnement isolés ou encastrés, grilloirs par contact, cuisinières isolées, cuisinières encastrées) et les appareils de cuisson à gaz comportant des éléments chauffants électriques (par exemple : appareil de cuisson combiné gaz-électricité).
