Le présent document s'applique aux câbles, destinés aux circuits de secours, de tension assignée ne dépassant pas 600/1 000 V, y compris ceux de tension assignée inférieure à 80 V, et aux câbles à fibres optiques destinés aux circuits de secours. Le présent document ne s'applique pas aux câbles prévus pour l'utilisation dans les réseaux publics de télécommunications.
