Le présent document traite de la sécurité de toutes sortes d'appareils de chauffage électrique utilisés pour la reproduction et l'élevage des animaux, tels que les appareils de chauffage radiants, couveuses électriques, incubateurs, unités d'élevage de poulets et plaques chauffantes pour animaux, la tension assignée des appareils n'étant pas supérieure à 250 V pour les appareils monophasés et à 480 V pour les autres appareils. Ce document entre dans le champ d'application de la Directive Basse Tension n° 73/23/CEE du 19/02/1973 modifiée par 93/68/CEE du 22/07/1993.
