Le présent document est applicable aux transformateurs de séparation de circuits fixes, monophasés ou polyphasés, à refroidissement par air (naturel ou forcé), destinés à alimenter des locaux à usages médicaux du groupe II, conçus pour être connectés en permanence au câblage fixe du système d'alimentation et destinés à former le système IT coté secondaire, ayant une tension primaire assignée ne dépassant pas 1 kV courant alternatif et une fréquence assignée ne dépassant pas 500 Hz. La puissance assignée ne doit pas être inférieure à 0,5 kVA et ne doit pas dépasser 10 kVA. Ce document entre dans le champ d'application de la Directive Basse Tension N° 73/23/EEC du 23/02/73 modifiée par 93/68/CEE du 22/07/93.
