Le présent document donne les spécifications techniques relatives au dimensionnement des installations pour l'eau destinée à la consommation humaine à l'intérieur des bâtiments. Il est associé à l'EN 806-1 et l'EN 806-2 concernant les installations d'eau potable à l'intérieur des bâtiments. Il ne traite pas du dimensionnement des tuyaux de réseaux de lutte contre l'incendie (voir l'EN 806-2, article 21).
