Le présent document spécifie les règles de sécurité relatives aux ascenseurs et ascenseurs de charge neufs, installés à demeure dans des bâtiments existants où, dans certaines circonstances, certaines prescriptions de la NF EN 81-20:2014 ne peuvent être satisfaites en raison de limitations imposées par les contraintes de construction (voir également la 4ème phrase de l'Introduction) . Il donne la liste de quelques-unes de ces contraintes et fournit les prescriptions pour des solutions alternatives.
