Ce document s'applique aux connecteurs bipolaires pour conditions froides, pour courant alternatif seulement, avec un degré de protection contre la pénétration de l'eau supérieur à IPXO, de tension assignée ne dépassant pas 250 V et de courant assigné ne dépassant pas 10 A alimentés à 50 Hz ou 60 Hz. Ce document entre dans le champ d'application de la Directive Basse Tension n° 73/23/CEE du 19/02/73 modifiée par 93/68/CEE du 22/07/93 art. 13 (cf. tome II, VIII). Il peut être utilisé dans le cadre de l'attribution du droit d'usage de la Marque de conformité aux normes.
