Le présent document prescrit les caractéristiques des revêtements de sol homogènes et hétérogènes à base de polychlorure de vinyle et ses modifications sous forme de dalles ou de rouleaux. Pour aider le consommateur à faire son choix, le présent document inclut un système de classification (voir la NF EN 685) basé sur l'intensité d'utilisation, indiquant l'endroit où le revêtement de sol rendrait un service satisfaisant. Il prescrit également des exigences relatives au marquage.
