Pour aider le consommateur à faire son choix, le présent document inclut un système de classification (voir la NF EN 685) basé sur l'intensité d'utilisation, indiquant l'endroit où le revêtement de sol rendrait un service satisfaisant. Il prescrit également des exigences relatives au marquage.
