Le présent document prescrit les exigences de ventilation du compartiment moteur à essence et du compartiment réservoir à essence des navires de plaisance dont la coque ne dépasse pas 24 m de longueur, équipés de moteurs à essence destinés à assurer la propulsion, la production d'électricité ou la puissance mécanique, afin d'empêcher toute accumulation de gaz explosifs dans ces compartiments. Les scooters de mer sont exceptés.
