<p> La présente Norme internationale donne des séries d'angles de cônes allant de 120° à moins de 1° et de conicités allant de 1:0,289 à 1:500, à l'usage de la mécanique en général. Elle s'applique seulement aux cônes lisses et non aux pièces prismatiques, filetages coniques, engrenages coniques, etc. La cotation et le tolérancement des surfaces coniques lisses sur les dessins font l'objet de l'ISO 3040. </p>
