Le présent document spécifie des modèles de calcul permettant de déterminer l'isolement acoustique aux bruits aériens entre des locaux, sur la base de données mesurées caractérisant la transmission directe ou la transmission latérale indirecte, des éléments de construction concernés ainsi que sur des méthodes théoriques d'évaluation de la propagation des sons dans les constructions. Par déduction, on arrive à un modèle simplifié avec un domaine d'application limité qui donne directement un indice d'évaluation à partir de ceux des produits. On trouvera les grands principes de calcul, la liste des grandeurs significatives, les applications et leurs limites.
