Les déclarations environnementales de Type III décrites parle présent document sont principalement destinées à une communication interentreprises, mais leur utIIIsation pour la communication entre une entreprise et des particuliers dans certaines conditions n''est pas exclue. Il n''outrepasse ni ne modifie en rien les informations environnementales exigées par la loi, les mentions ou l''étiquetage ou toute autre exigence légale applicable. Il ne contient pas de dispositions spécifiques à un secteur, celles-ci pouvant faire l''objet d''autres documents ISO. Il est attendu que des dispositions spécifiques à un secteur présentes dans d''autres documents ISO relatives aux déclarations environnementales de Type III se basent sur les principes et les procédures figurant dans le présent document.
