Le présent document spécifie les exigences et les méthodes d'essai applicables aux embouts et aux inserts anti-perforation, destinés à être utilisés comme composants des chaussures EPI (par exemple comme décrit dans la NF EN ISO 20345, la NF EN ISO 20346 et la NF EN ISO 20347). Le présent document a été élaborée dans le but de permettre aux fabricants de démontrer le niveau de performances des embouts de chaussure et des inserts anti-perforation avant qu'ils ne soient insérés dans la chaussure. Les produits décrits par la présente norme ne sont pas des équipements de protection individuels (EPI) et ne peuvent pas porter le marquage "CE".
