Le présent document traite des instruments de mesure d''état de surface surfacique. Il définit les caractéristiques métrologiques des instruments à variation focale conçus pour réaliser des mesurages sur des cartes topographiques de surfaces et les grandeurs d''influence. Une présentation détaillée du fonctionnement d''un microscope de focalisation dynamique est donnée en Annexe A. Les méthodes d''étalonnage et les étalons utilisés pour la conformité métrologique feront l''objet de parties distinctes de la série ISO 25178. La situation du présent document dans la matrice GPS est donnée en Annexe B.
