Le présent document fait partie d'un ensemble de 5 normes relatives au soudage de l'aluminium par friction-malaxage (soudage FSW). Ce procédé de soudage innovant, entièrement réalisé en phase solide permet d'assembler des alliages précédemment considérés comme très difficiles à souder par les procédés de soudage par fusion. La NF EN ISO 25239-1 définit le vocabulaire relatif au soudage FSW. La conception des assemblages soudés, la qualification des opérateurs soudeurs, le descriptif et la qualification des modes opératoires de soudage et les exigences de qualité et de contrôle relatives au soudage FSW font respectivement l'objet des parties 2 à 5.
