La présente norme constitue la norme de famille des vis à tôle. Elle s'applique aux vis à tôle, en acier au carbone, en acier inoxydable et en alliage léger de diamètres nominaux 1,5 à 9,5. (Les valeurs figurant dans la présente norme en caractères maigres correspondent à des diamètres ou des références peu usités, donnés à titre purement indicatif). Elle en fixe : - les filetages - les tolérances, - pour les vis en acier au carbone - les caractéristiques métallurgiques et mécaniques - les programmes d'essais selon les types - pour les vis en acier inoxydable et alliage léger, les nuances de matière.
