Le présent document précise des méthodes de nettoyage à sec à l'aide de perchloréthylène, mettant en oeuvre des machines de nettoyage à sec du commerce, pour les étoffes et les vêtements. Il comporte un mode opératoire pour les articles normaux et un mode opératoire pour les articles sensibles et très sensibles (voir article 3). Les modes opératoires sont destinés à être utilisés pour la détermination de la variation des dimensions d'étoffes et de vêtements soumis au nettoyage à sec mais peuvent également être utilisés pour évaluer les variations d'autres propriétés.

It is intended for fabrics and garments that cannot be washed and need professional finishing. It comprises a normal process for normal materials, a mild process for sensitive materials and a very mild process for very sensitive materials.</p> <p>Localized staining and stain removal fall outside the scope of this document.</p>
