La présente norme fixe les conditions et modalités d'attribution aux producteurs d'information et intégrateurs d'un numéro d'identification. Ce numéro d'identification est utilisé par tout producteur d'information ou intégrateur qui compose, adapte ou consolide des bibliothèques normalisées de composants conformes à la norme Z 99-001 pour référencer les informations contenues dans de telles bibliothèques dans le but d'assurer la traçabilité de ces informations. La présente norme concerne donc tout producteur d'information ou intégrateur potentiel, tel que fabricant de composants industriels désirant informatiser son catalogue de produits ou société de services en ingéniérie informatique désirant adapter des bibliothèques de composants en vue de diverses applications informatiques.
