Le présent document spécifie une méthode de détermination des diamètres moyen, minimal et maximal ou de l'ovalisation des objets cylindriques de section droite ou ovale par calibrage sans contact au moyen d'un faisceau laser. La méthode est applicable, en particulier, aux cigarettes et aux bâtonnets-filtres. D'autres techniques de mesurage employant des rubans mesureurs ou un circuit pneumatique à pont de mesurage sont décrites en annexe informative à ce document.
