Le présent document amende la NF ISO 3601-1 en précisant le domaine d'application par l'indication que les tolérances - en particulier pour les diamètres de section d 2 les plus grands - s'appliquent essentiellement aux joints moulés. Il ajoute également trois plages de tolérance pour les joints toriques non normalisés de diamètre de section d 2 supérieur 8,4 mm.
