Il a pour objet d'organiser de façon systémique un système de questionnements autour des trois dimensions du développement durable et des sept domaines d'action de l'économie circulaire à chaque étape de la démarche d'amélioration continue. Il définit les termes, principes, pratiques ; et spécifie des exigences et recommandations relatives au système de management de projet d'économie circulaire. Il permet de promouvoir une compréhension commune du sujet. Il fournit des exigences pour planifier, mettre en oeuvre, évaluer et améliorer un système de management de projet d'économie circulaire en adoptant une approche ouverte et holistique. Le présent document est un outil de management de projet, il a pour objet de fournir des lignes directrices et non de coter ou de comparer des organismes entre eux.
